Newaya - The Village Elder

After 5 years of studying at New3dge school, I'm so proud to present my last graduation project !
Here is Newaya, the character I made for the short film TRIBES based on Arthur RIPERT's concept

I had to learn so much and couldn't have done it all without the teamwork and support.

I'm very thankful having Alfred MATHIEU as my teacher.

Making this character took me about 5 months : from sculpting to texturing, shading, and get the lookdev done.
I also took care of the grooming using Ornatrix for the hair, beard, eyelashes and eyebrows.
For the fluff on the clothing I simply used the Vray fur.
For the rest of the year, I took care of the animation setup for Newaya, sculpted his blendshapes, aswell as animating the characters for half of the shots.
Making a film isn't simply doing your job. You have to adapt constantly. Make it easier for each department.
We had to be aware of everything in the whole process, so that we knew what was the priority, what we had to work on first.
